Scott Clay has had a “challenging” year.
The ‘Let It All Lay Bare’ singer has had some of the “most difficult” months he’s experienced in years, but thinks his struggles have helped him progress in his life and career and is hoping 2024 proves to be better.
Asked how 2023 has been, he told BANG Showbiz: “Challenging. Challenging. Challenging. As with challenges, though you grow and strengthen by continuing forward.
“This year was by far one of the most difficult years I’ve come across in decades. Fortunately, there was not as much personal difficulty, most of my challenges came from finances, work, and other low venue guarantees.
“I do truly believe that I’ll look back on 2023 as a year that really defined me and progressed me forward in my career and life. I do think that 2024 will continue to be challenging, but I am hoping that it will be a slight relief to what was experienced this past year..
“I’ve had the most difficult time in my life collecting payments owed for work and performances, it’s been a nightmare of a year!”
But Scott has seen some positives this year and is excited for the opportunities coming his way next year.
He added: “On the upside, I worked tirelessly to finish lyrics, vocals and guitars for my upcoming album ‘Jade’ due for release in May 2024, and completed the music videos and songs for the album release.
“I performed my first ever international show at OxFam Jam in Nottinghamshire, UK.
“And planned the most incredible tour for 2024 including over 50 venue dates in the UK and USA.”
