Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in New York City on Monday following a grand jury indictment.
The exact charges Combs faces remain unclear. However, in March 2024, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security raided his home in Los Angeles and Miami as part of an ongoing federal investigation into sex trafficking. He also faces multiple civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual abuse.
“We are disappointed in the decision by the U.S. Attorney’s Office to pursue what we believe is an unfair prosecution of Mr. Combs,” Marc Agnifilo, Combs’ attorney, said in a statement confirming his client’s arrest. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, a self-made entrepreneur, a loving family man, and a proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, doting on his children, and working to uplift the Black community. He is a flawed person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit, Mr. Combs has done nothing but cooperate with this investigation and voluntarily moved to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man who has nothing to hide and looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
