Cyber ninjas continue to take center stage Mortal Kombat 1 first expansion, Khaos Reigns.
After the first gameplay trailer for Cyrax, which left a loser in tears because the fictional characters were gender-swapped and revealed that Cyrax was a black woman (GASP), NetherRealm Studios is back with a new trailer for Sektor.
In the latest trailer, we are introduced to the new Sektor. We learn that in Fire God Lui Kang's new age of peace, she grew up steeped in Lin Kuei culture, with her father a master gunsmith and her mother a top warrior.
With the knowledge of her parents, Sektor is a weapons expert and a fierce fighter.
So it's no surprise that she's deeply devoted to the clan, which is why Bi-Han, the new era's version of Sub-Zero, favors her and agrees with Sektor's grand vision for her future Lin Kuei, trusting her and making her one of his trusted lieutenants.
As we saw in her gameplay trailer, Sektor is willing to eliminate anyone who disagrees with her changes to Lin Keui, including Cyrax.
In Sektor's gameplay trailer, we get a sample of her killer moveset and her out-of-this-world fatality, which has instantly become one of our favorites.
We also get to see her animation, which shows the cyber ninja turning into a giant rhinoceros.
The reaction to Sektor's return
The reception to Sektor's trailer wasn't as hostile as Cryax's, with many seeing the return of the character regardless of the changes.
“OMG sektor trailer was amazing! that death was 10/10. Best trailer for me besides the ermac game reveal. The red hype robot is back!” YouTuber Super fighting game wrote in a post on Xformerly Twitter.
Another user on X wrote“This Domain #MK1 The trailer is definitely the best. I love her fatality where this whole Ironman thing happens, especially with the readings on her helmet. Well done to all involved.”
Sektor and Cyrax aren't the only new Kombatants coming MK1 as part of the Khaos Reigns expansion coming September 24th. Noob Saibot (available September 24) and guest fighters Ghostface (Scream privilege), T-1000 (Terminator 2: Judgment Day), and Conan the Barbarian (Post release time to be announced at a later date) is also on the way.
