Shaboozey isn't necessarily happy with the results, but he has officially conceded one of the most contentious elections of 2024: Peopleof the “Sexiest Man Alive” contest.
After it was announced that John Krasinski had won the coveted title this year, the 29-year-old country star jokingly tweeted his opposition to the results. “It should have been me… but the people have spoken,” he wrote.
But for what it's worth, Boozey also offered a good reason to Office star: “Congratulations @johnkrasinski,” she added with a teardrop emoji.
Although it is not known who People was officially considering the role of sexiest man alive – which last year went to Patrick Dempsey, who followed previous winners Chris Evans, Paul Rudd and Michael B. Jordan – the “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” singer was publicly in competition with Harry Styles, Role Model and Zach Bryan for the “Sexiest Musician” category. This price, however, he finally went to the artist 'Watermelon Sugar'.
Other musicians nominated in this year's sexiest categories were Bad Bunny and Post Malone — both of whom lost to The Bear Star Jeremy Allen White for the sexiest tattoos — and Joe Jonas, who won the “Makes BRAT Look Sexiest” title.
But while things didn't go Shaboozey's way this time around, the Virginia native is fresh off a major career win. On Friday, the announcement of the 2025 Grammy nominations revealed that he is up for awards in five categories, including best new artist. His “Spaghettii” duet with Beyoncé is also up for best rap melodic performance, while the Billboard Hot 100 smash “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” — currently in its 17th week at No. 1 of the chart – recognized as the best. country solo performance, best country song and song of the year.
“GRAMMY NOMINEE BOOZEY!!!!!!!! LOVE YOU ALL THANK YOU @RecordingAcad !!!!” reacted to the news on Friday X. “We did it!!!!”
A little later, Shaboozey talked about the prices in an interview with Bulletin board. “The most exciting part of all of this is being able to listen to your music and be like, 'Shit, I'm not capping anymore,'” he said. “I actually got that Grammy I talked about in that song I did in 2014!” Event mate.
