Shaboozey reigns supreme Bulletin boardCountry Airplay chart (dated September 14) for seventh week milestone with “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” The song garnered 28.2 million audience impressions in the format (down 2%) Aug. 30-Sept. 5, according to Luminate.
The Virginian's (born Collins Obinna Chibueze) track surpasses Carrie Underwood's “Jesus, Take the Wheel” (six weeks at No. 1, 2006) as country's biggest career-launching hit (counting country debuts Airplay as a lead artist or their original songs promoted to country radio).
Additionally, since Country Airplay began in January 1990, “A Bar Song” has claimed only the 11th position for seven weeks or more. Two recent hits are tied for the longest run, at 10 weeks each: Nate Smith's “World on Fire” (starting last December) and Morgan Wallen's “You Proof” (2022-23).
“A Bar Song” has topped the multi-metric Hot Country Songs chart for 12 weeks and the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 for eight frames as of the Sept. 7-dated charts — respectively best so far among all titles in 2024.
Here is “Dirt”
Meanwhile, Justin Moore collects his 15th Country Airplay top 10 as “This Is My Dirt” rises 11-10 (18.1 million, up 5%). The Poyen, Ark., native co-wrote the song with Paul DiGiovanni, Randy Montana and Jeremy Stover, the latter of whom also produced it. It's the lead single and title track from Moore's 12-track album, which will be released on October 8.
Moore scores his sixth consecutive Country Airplay top 10 and his first since Priscilla Block's “You, Me, & Whiskey,” which peaked at No. 3 last August. Before that, he tied for four consecutive No. 1s: “With a Woman You Love,” his 10th leader, in September 2022. “We Didn't Have Much” (August 2021) “Why We Drink” (August 2020) ; and “The Ones That Didn't Make It Back Home” (September 2019). He led the way with his first top 10 hit, “Small Town USA,” in October 2009.
