Shania Twain knows the No. 1 rule of live shows: if you can laugh at yourself, so can everyone else. The singer learned that lesson again recently during a show where she sang her 1995 The Woman in Me single “(If You're Not in It For Love() I'm Outta Here!” holding her microphone in her right hand and a white and pink drum in the other).
At one point, Twain took a shine and — having tucked it under her arm moments before — pulled out the stick and sang into it momentarily. After a few seconds, her eyes widened as the singer appeared to realize her microphone mix-up and quickly switched to laughing, saying: 'Oh my God! It was hilarious!”
Proving that she's a good sport, Twain, 51, then held both up to her mouth, sang into the stick one more time for good luck, and then went on flawlessly with the rest of the show. Shania posted a video of the incident taken by a fan to her X account on Monday and hilariously followed the mic mix-up. “I'm so glad someone captured this moment, it made me laugh again,” she wrote.
Twain's Come on Over Las Vegas Residency at Planet Hollywood's Bakkt Theater kicked off on May 10, and the singer will spend June and July headlining shows and festivals in the UK before returning to the Strip on August 23 for a run of shows until mid-December.
