Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory are hitting the ground running in 2025. The debut album from the band, anchored by singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten, is set to arrive on February 7th. To mark the LP release, they’ll be heading out on a North American tour kicking off the same month, bookending previously announced dates in Europe. Over the course of five months, they’ll hit cities like Philadelphia, Nashville, Chicago, Denver, and many more.
While the self-titled album will mark the debut record for Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory as a band, the singer-songwriter has been playing live with Jorge Balbi (drums, machines), Devra Hoff (bass, vocals), and Teeny Lieberson (synth, piano, guitar, vocals) for years.

In conjunction with the announcement, the quartet has shared “Southern Life (What It Must Be Like),” the second look into the self-titled album following the release of “Afterlife.” According to Van Etten, the grand, swirling track is about “trying to understand people with very different perspectives and backgrounds, while also trying to be compassionate towards our past, present, and future selves.”
Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory will be available on streaming and in physical formats on February 7th; pre-orders for vinyl pressings of the record are ongoing.
