Shed Seven started their 30th anniversary year in style when 'A Matter of Time' became their first number one album, but there's plenty more to come as 2024 progresses, starting with today's release of their new single 'Let's Go Dancing'.
Already a firm fan favourite, especially during the band's recent sell-out shows, 'Let's Go Dancing' is indicative of Shed Seven's range. Yearning, romantic and melancholic, the simmering anthem is driven by the passion of Rick Witter's lyrics. It's a plea for one last chance when all seems lost, a message of hope at a time when the odds seem to be against you. Like the rest of their parent album, 'Let's Go Dancing' was produced by Youth (The Verve, Pink Floyd) and mixed by Cenzo Townshend (Florence + The Machine, Inhaler).
Rick says, “The dance, depending on the style, of course, can be personal or even involve several people. It can include a certain amount of close contact and can create unforgettable moments. It can be full of romance or alternatively it could be a chance to let your hair down and let loose. In this day and age where we are potentially only six feet away from some form of hate and negativity, it's a way to remind ourselves that there is love in the world. I can hear music and I can see lights, so let's dance…”

There is still much more to reveal as we celebrate Shed Seven's 30th anniversary together. There are currently three concerts on the calendar: two special 8,000-capacity celebratory shows in York's Museum Gardens (July 19 and 20), both of which sold out almost instantly and feature special guest and collaborator by 'Throwaways' Peter Doherty, and one set at Blossoms' 30,000-capacity Big Bank Holiday Weekend on August 25.
