Shonda Rhimes talent is endless as she is the mastermind behind classic TV shows including Grey's Anatomy, Private clinic, Scandal and more. In the film world, he wrote many hits including 2002 Crossroads starring Britney Spears.
The TV Hall of Famer recalled meeting the pop star before filming with Jennifer Hudson on Thursday's (May 23) episode of the latter's talk show. “It was crazy. I was a serious nerd, so I didn't know, like, who she was in terms of her music,” Rhimes revealed. “I just knew she was a pop star, but I didn't know anything about her music or anything.”
He continued, “Well, our first meeting was when I went to her concert and met her backstage. It was the first time I had seen this kind of power. She would wiggle her eyebrow and the audience would lose their minds. It was amazing to watch this kind of command at this age. It was spectacular.”
In October, the coming-of-age movie returned on screens around the world for two days to celebrate Spears' memoir, The Woman in Me. Crossroads – based on a story idea by Spears – also co-stars Zoe Saldaña, Taryn Manning, Kim Cattrall and Dan Aykroyd in a story of three estranged childhood friends (Spears, Manning, Saldaña) who reunite on the night of their high school graduation to unearth their “wish box” and embark on an adventurous, cross-country road trip that rekindles their friendship.
