Sinead O'Connor and Shane MacGowan All-Star Tribute Concert for St. Patrick's Day in NYC

New York's Carnegie Hall will host an all-star tribute concert to Sinéad O'Connor and Pogues singer Shane MacGowan on St. Patrick's Day. The March 20 show will include sets from Cat Power, Glen Hansard, Dropkick Murphys, The Mountain Goats, Amanda Palmer and David Gray.

The special event, entitled 'Sinéad & Shane at Carnegie Hall', will pay tribute to the two iconic singers who died last year. O'Connor left at 56 in July and MacGowan at 65 in November. Among the other acts set to perform in honor of the “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer and extreme Pogues frontman are: Bettye Lavette, Gogol Bordello singer Eugene Hutz, Sunflower Bean singer Julia Cumming, Kat Edmonson, the Resistance Revival Chorus and other compositions. to be named later.

tickets for the show, which goes on sale later this month, are available herewith multiple tiers of VIP packages including “Lucky Charm” (which includes a private box seat on the first or second tier and a guest list spot for the after party), “Transmetropolitan” (including access to the after party and a seat at an exclusive 5-course dinner with participating artists and other VIPs on the night of rehearsal — March 19) and the “Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah” ticket (with access to dinner, rehearsal performance, full access to soundcheck and top -rack seats).

More exclusive upgrades include “A Pair of Brown Eyes” (with all of the above, limited to two packages for two, including the opportunity for all participating artists to join the Carnegie Hall stage for the grand finale) and “Nothing Compares 2 U,” in which guest will have the opportunity to work with City Winery founder/CEO Michael Dorf to help curate the song lineup for the show. VIP packages range from $300 to $20,000 for the top tier .

All net proceeds from the show will go to PEN American, which is dedicated to protecting the freedom of writing in the United States and around the world.
