Sending a message of encouragement to overcome adversity, Headie One employs the talents of dubstep icon Skrillex on his new single, “Make a W.”
The song appears on the rising hip-hop artist's sophomore album. Latestwhich is out now via Sony UK. It features the fluid rapping style of Headie One and fellow Brit AJ Tracey, as well as frequent Skrillex collaborator BEAM, whose production swirls with hypnotic melodies and rumbling bass.
The languid beat contrasts with Headie One's fiery lyricism throughout the song, creating a compelling ebb and flow. It sends a message of spinning straw into gold, and trusting in yourself to “make it big” even when obstacles arise.
Skrillex is no stranger to hip-hop collaborations, and has released fan-favorite songs alongside artists such as Rick Ross (“Purple Lamborghini”), The Game (“El Chapo”), 2 Chainz (“Febreze”) and Pusha T (“Burial”), among other rap icons. “Make a W” follows his immensely popular collaboration with Hamdi and TAICHU, “Push,” which was released in May.
