Skrillex, Varg²™ and Bladee go through the agony of an existential crisis in their new collaboration, “Is There a Place in Heaven for Guys Like Me?”
The new theme appears in the sixth installment of the Nordic Flora Series from the elusive Swedish producer Varg²™. In February it was revealed that the album featured Skrillex and Swedish experimental pop artist Bladee, among others.
“Is there a place in heaven for guys like me?” It opens placidly with soft vocals over spacey pads. Then, twinkling arpeggios guide us toward a crisis before the chorus hits like a bullet train with propulsive hyperpop drums and cybernetic synths.
The new release follows Skrillex and Bladee's previous collaborations, “Ceremony” and “Real Spring” from the dubstep icon's 2023 album. Don't get too close. Fellow Swedes Varg²™ and Bladee also team up on “H2D” (featuring Ecco2K) for the former's new album.
