When Travis Scott returns Saturday night live this weekend, as musical guest cast member Marcello Hernandez promises the show will be in “Sicko Mode” — just like Scott's collaboration with Billboard Hot 100 hit Drake from 2018. But first-time host Ramy Youssef doesn't has it in the news SNL promos, which dropped late Thursday (March 28) ahead of Saturday's new episode.
“I told you not to do it in front of him,” o Poor The actor/comedian tells Hernandez about the song's title pun.
“Sorry, I just get those goosebumps every time,” Hernandez replies with a smile, calling out one more Scott song: “Goosebumps,” a Top 40 Hot 100 solo hit in 2017 that led to a No. 47 top HVME remix in 2021 .
“It's just not a good look,” says Youssef. “Sorry, Trav.”
Things don't get any better for Hernandez in a second promo, when he starts a bad joke. “A Latino, an Egyptian, and a Black man walk into a bar…” he begins, before Scott and Youssef cut him off.
“You're probably right, because the line was bad,” Hernandez admits, before Youssef says, “The arrangement was, too.”
Scott will get his second series as SNL musical guest this weekend, following his debut in October 2018. For his first appearance, he brought out John Mayer on guitar and Tame Impala's Kevin Parker on bass for a mash-up of “Skeletons” (featuring Mayer) and “Astrothunder” (a collaboration with Tame Impala) from Astrocosm album, before dropping “Sicko Mode” and Drake for his second song.
Youssef will host SNL for the first time since co-starring alongside Emma Stone in the awards season darling Poor. The stand-up comedian also took home the 2020 Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for the Hulu series Ramy.
