Even without a gold medal, Snoop Dogg was the star of the show at the 2024 Paris Olympics with wall-to-wall coverage of the games.
Snoop caught up with Michael Phelps to get some lessons in the pool from the American swimming icon and 23-time gold medalist in a video shared by NBC Sports on Monday (July 29).
“Now MP, how does one become fast in the pool?” asked the rapper. Phelps responded, pointing to a few different areas: “Wings spread, lung power.”
Snoop loved what he heard because he felt it described him exactly. “You said wingspan, lung power—I sure have lung power,” said the Dog. “Our bodies are similar Mike, we could be twins!”
The “Gin and Juice” rapper rocked the skull cap and initially didn't want glasses, but the chlorine quickly made Snoop Dogg change his tune on that front. He also tried different techniques to improve his push and various strokes to improve in the pool, while Phelps – who has won 28 medals – glided underwater and appeared to be in gold medal form as if it were still the Olympics. of Beijing 2008.
“Mike, you make this look so easy,” said an exhausted Snoop in amazement. “Oh my God. As you can see, I'm in gold medal condition and he's still in gold medal condition as we speak. Shout out to the Phelps family and the team for giving me some oxygen right now.”
In addition to looking for some tips with the most decorated Olympian of all time, Snoop Dogg has attended all of NBC's broadcasts as a fan-favorite correspondent, providing coverage of the 2024 Olympics.
The 52-year-old was spotted throughout the Olympic Village participating in gymnastics competitions, chatting with his mother Simone Biles and even serving as an official torchbearer for the United States in Paris.
