Snoop Dogg has been a national treasure, providing wall-to-wall coverage of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris for NBC. As a special correspondent for the Olympics, Snoop completes various side missions throughout his time in France.
From serving as the USA's official torchbearer, to being America's biggest cheerleader and swimming with Michael Phelps, the West Coast rap legend is soaking up all that the Paris Olympics have to offer.
“This opportunity was nothing but an opportunity for me to show the world what it should look like when you put the right person in the right environment,” he told Wall Street Journal. “Sports, entertainment, people — that's what I do. I do it every day. I want to shout out all the executives, because the first thing they did was tell me to be me.”
Snoop goes viral almost daily on social media. Whether it's his stylish American-themed outfits or him simply finding something new to pique his interest in the Olympics, viewers can't get enough of the Grammy-nominated rapper.

Snoop Dogg put on his Nike track shoes and ran the 200m race at the Olympic trials in June. The weed connoisseur seemed pleased with his time of 34.44 seconds. “34.44 for a 52 year old? Not bad,” he said while clapping in his Team USA Kobe Bryant jersey.

Snoop and his “Drop It Like It's Hot” collaborator Pharrell served as torchbearers, parading a stretch of Seine-Saint-Denis. Snoop hit the Crip Walk, mingled with fans and seemed to have a blast in his role.
“I felt like Muhammad Ali. I discovered that when you hold the torch, you are a messenger of peace,” he said NBC. “I was waving, shaking hands, kissing babies – doing what I do, do you understand me? Snoop and Team USA athlete Suni Lee engaged in a spirited round of affirmations. “I've been training all my life for the Olympics. I look great wearing gold,” Snoop said.

With his burly frame, Snoop Dogg could have made some noise as a volleyball player in his athletic prime if he hadn't gone the music route. The rapper met with the ladies of the beach volleyball team and referred to himself as their “coach” during an interview with NBC.
“I got to represent the USA all day. I got a chance to meet these ladies and I fell in love with them,” he said. “The whole strategic approach of how they teach teamwork and how they maintain family and sisterhood [central], it is so important to me. I like to support it.”

The Doggfather took the stage to perform the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Drop It like It's Hot” and a cover of “Too Close” by Next. From LeBron James to Kevin Durant to Tom Brady, there was plenty of star power.
