Now available on NGHTMRE and SLANDER's Gud Vibrations label, Dustinations It is Soltan's first EP since 2016 Jadugaralthough since then he has released numerous singles and collaborations. “Serpent King” kicks off the project on a strident note, its pounding drums and acid-fueled bass promising a wild ride ahead.
Next come the titles “Dustinations” and “Masyaf,” where Soltan dips his toes into the turbulent waters of bass house. He seamlessly transitions from both their second releases into his signature dubstep style, showcasing his formidable versatility in the studio.
“Babel Bug” finds him exploring a more languid sound, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's softer. Choppy, hazy samples saturate the mix while dirty, textured 808s propel themselves like toxic sludge. Although it stands on its own, it seems to function as a segue into the EP's final track, “Blinking Stars,” acting as a jolt strong enough to electrify listeners into a stupor.
