Soulja Boy Apologizes To Metro Boomin For Tweets About Late Mother: 'I Will Seek Therapy'

Soulja Boy isn't the first rapper to apologize, but he won't be the last. Big Draco has received backlash from the hip-hop community for his recent rants dissing Metro Boomin and disrespecting the producer's late mother.

Soulja Boy seemingly started on Sunday (May 12) after a 2012 tweet from Metro resurfaced of him taking a photo with the “Crank Dat” rapper. “My phone is ringing to come in the studio with Jeezy. Yours beats to send Soulja Boy a pack of beats. Sit down,” the since-deleted 2012 tweet reads, per PULSE.

After a few days dealing with doubling down on his ill feelings, the SODMG boss expressed remorse for his remarks and apologized to X on Wednesday afternoon (May 15).

“Apologies to @MetroBoomin for reacting to an old tweet,” she wrote before revealing she would be seeking help. “Condolences to his mom. I will seek therapy and anger management. I'm done responding to hate, new or old.”

It's rare to hear Soulja Boy back down on any kind of controversy, so naturally, fans questioned his sincerity when they came across his responses.

“I can't tell if this is a bit,” one person He wrote.

Other added: “I hope you contacted him personally. I wish you the best in your healing journey. Here's to promoting positivity in the world.”

The backlash came at Soulja Boy after he repeatedly took shots at Metro Boomin and brought up his late mother, who the producer was very close to and died in a murder-suicide in 2022.

“F–k that n—a mama!!!!!!!!!! Don't talk about my name b—h! You sacrificed your own mama @MetroBoomin to a puppet,” Soulja Boy wrote in more tweets that have since been deleted.

He continued: “All the streams, sales, money and fame not wasted bring your mom back @MetroBoomin was it worth it? you can f–k this money and fame and still be a boss, can you?'

21 Savage then stepped in to support his friend and frequent collaborator. He denied Soulja Boy by posting a snapshot of one XXL article that claimed Big Draco had a negative net worth.

The Slaughter Gang honcho continued to threaten the rapper on X: “Talking to a momma like shit a toy, thinkin' of you when I see you boy.”
