One night when Piano Man's music filled the room, it was Spaghetti & Meatballs who came out of the competition at Fox's The masked singer.
Celebrity contestants descended on Billy Joel Night on Wednesday (March 20), where the pasta master battled Poodle Moth, Clock and Lizard, with the loser going home early.
Spaghetti & Meatballs belted out 'Only the Good Die Young', Clock went back in time with 'Piano Man', Lizard performed 'Uptown Girl' and Poodle Moth's hit 'Just The Way You Are'.
Even panelist Robin Thicke got in on the action, belting out Joel's “My Life.”
Spaghetti & Meatballs and Lizard found themselves in the bottom bracket and dueling for a lifeline. They both performed “Movin' Out (Anthony's Song),” but Spaghetti was the one to leave.
Before exiting the competition, the helmet came off to reveal Masterchef judge and restaurateur Joe Bastianich – a personal friend of Billy Joel.
This man can sing and cook, although none of the judges could make the food connection.
“You have an incredible voice,” remarked Jenny McCarthy.
The song, noted the TV personality, “has been a passion for me all my life. So when I was given the opportunity to do this and share it with all of you, I jumped at it.”
Well done.
Bastianich as Spaghetti & Meatballs follows the exits of Savannah Chrisley (as Afghan Hound) and Kevin Hart (as Book) in this 11th season of Fox's quirky singing competition.
Nick Cannon returns as host of The Masked Singer, which features returning judges Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and newbie Rita Ora, who fills in for Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, who had a West End run of London and appeared on Sunset. Avenue.
