An “illegal” party organized by Diplo on the island of Ibiza has led to an investigation by Spanish police. IB3 reports.
Diplo performed for fans on Monday on the shores of the stunning Cala D'Hort, a protected nature reserve in Sant Josep de sa Talaia. After his actions on the small rocky islet of Es Vedrà, whose videos were spread on social networks, the City Council and the Local Police of Sant Josep announced an investigation into the incident.
Diplo and any other organizer could face a fine of up to 300,000 euros, for IB3.

The Ibiza Leisure Association issued a statement condemning the party in the Ibizan cove, a “very sensitive area of the island” that is part of the European Environment Agency's network of protected areas, Natura 2000. Diplo is believed to have promoted the illicit party through his social media channels.
The event has also drawn the ire of local environmental groups such as Amics de la Terra, who took to social media to reprimand the DJ.

“The space where this event was held is a Protected Space by the European Union through the Natura 2000 Network, as well as a Natural Space of Special Interest, among other environmental protection figures,” reads a press release issued by the Sant Josep Town Hall. Council. “A vulnerable area in which this type of illegal activities promote the risk of fires, noise problems, waste, etc. and, of course, endanger the integrity of those attending.”
It is unclear whether Diplo received permission from local authorities to host the party and he has not been formally charged as of this writing.
