Annie Clark, also known as St. Vincent, has officially announced her seventh studio album, Everyone is born screamingand shared its lead single, “Broken Man.”
Date scheduled for April 26 through Virgin Music Group, Everyone is born screaming marks Clark's first self-produced album and presents his vision of “post-plague” emotional exploration. Speaking about the sound of the record, Clark said in a statement: “There are some places, emotionally, that you can only get to by taking a long walk in the woods alone, to discover what your heart is really saying. It sounds real because it is real.”
Spanning 10 tracks, Everyone is born screaming will feature a number of interesting contributions from musicians including Dave Grohl, Cate Le Bon, Josh Freese, Rachel Eckroth, Mark Guiliana, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Stella Mogzawa and David Ralicke. Check out the artwork and full tracklist below.
Today, Everyone is born screamingThe first single, “Broken Man,” arrives alongside a music video directed by Alex Da Corte. The video was filmed in Philadelphia and premiered on MTV Live and on the Paramount Times Square billboard. Look the following video.
Everyone is born screaming will follow the launch of St. Vincent in 2021, Dad's house. Recently, he described the new album as “darker and harder” than his recent output, with an “urgent and psychotic” sound. Pre-orders for the album are ongoing.
