ESPN mainframe Stephen A. Smith aligned with Drake in the brewery of rap beef with Kendrick Lamar at the latest Drink Champs episode.
It is not one devaluation let's say that Stephen A. Smith, the host of ESPN First Take, is very opinionated. So in his guest appearance on Drink Champs podcast, the talkative media personality was asked his opinion on who he would pick in the burgeoning rap beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. “First of all, major props to both of you,” Smith began. “I'm going to go with Drake because even though everyone knows Kendrick Lamar and knows how talented he is, you have so many people that periodically try to come at Drake and he's always up.”
The veteran sports reporter added, “I mean, he's one of those guys. It could be the look, it could be the way he communicates, it could be his taste – it could be anything. But Drake seems impenetrable, and what I get from Drake is that I don't hear too many people coming to Kendrick Lamar.” Smith concluded his point by commiserating with him Certified Boy Lover rapper, likening the constant disdain he receives to what Drake goes through. “But everybody's always trying to get to Drake, and, obviously, I can relate to that,” he said.
Smith's voice is the latest to hit on the tension between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, which took another level after J. Cole's release It may be deleted later project last Friday (April 5). It featured the track “7 Minute Drill,” which dropped some serious jabs at Kendrick Lamar. The track was in response to the verse To Pimp A Butterfly The rapper delivered “Like That” from Future and Metro Boomin's recent album.
