The Cast Albums chart ranks the week's best-selling cast recordings in the United States, based on traditional album sales, according to data tracking company Luminate. The list dated November 9 reflects the tracking week ending October 31.
SUNSET BLVD. is a newly reimagined revival of the stage musical Sunset Blvdwhich premiered in London's West End in 1993 and arrived on Broadway in New York the following year. The musical — with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Christopher Hampton and Don Black — is based on the Oscar-winning 1950 film Sunset Blvd starring Gloria Swanson as faded screen star Norma Desmond.
Its new revival SUNSET BLVD. opened at the Savoy Theater in London's West End on 21 October 2023, starring Scherzinger (Desmond), Tom Francis (Joe Gillis), Grace Hodgett-Young (Betty Schaefer) and David Thaxton (Max Von Mayerling). The West End production ran until 6 January 2024. The four-star production moved to St. James Broadway in New York and opened there on October 20.
SUNSET BLVD: The album It was recorded live at the Savoy Theater during the famous show and was released on 25th October on CD, vinyl and digital download for purchase.
SUNSET BLVD. won seven Olivier Awards in 2024, including Best Musical Revival, Best Actress in a Musical (Scherzinger), Best Actress in a Musical (Tom Francis), Best Director (Jamie Lloyd) and Outstanding Musical Contribution (Alan Williams, for music direction and music supervision).
SUNSET BLVD. on Broadway is scheduled for performances through July 6, 2025.
