After promoting the song for almost two years, Swedish House Mafia has “finally” released their long-awaited collaboration with Alicia Keys.
Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso are no strangers to high-profile collaborations—they’ve worked with Pharrell, A$AP Rocky, The Weeknd, Sting, Future, and more since their 2009 debut. Now, they’ve shared “Finally,” a reimagined version of Kings of Tomorrow’s Defected classic of the same name, alongside R&B great Keys.
Her vocal talent is paramount, but the iconic Swedish trio take center stage and amplify it with dramatic keys that build to an anthemic breakdown rich with radiant synths and driving drums. Their production beautifully accompanies Keys’ lyricism, achingly reflecting on the time spent waiting for a loved one before the song’s energetic climax, which mirrors the electric moment of reunion.
The new single comes after another long-awaited song in Swedish House Mafia's history, “Lioness,” which was released in June.
