Iconic label Hospital Records is known for taking drum & bass to places it's never been before, but the team behind the label outdid themselves this time.
Hospital literally took their music to new heights in the skies above Bristol, where they recently hosted the city’s first hot air balloon party. The ambitious event was made possible through a collaboration between Hospitality (the label’s global events division), summer events organiser Siren and non-profit organisation RIOT Noise.
Together they organised the Skyward party and brought in Hospital Records artist Anaïs as DJ. A small group of competition winners crowded into the booth and grooved to their mix of jungle and drum & bass, while a drone followed close behind to capture stunning panoramic views of Bristol.

“When you think of Bristol, a couple of things come to mind: unrivalled nightlife and hot air balloons,” said Tom Hoyle, co-founder of Siren. “For us, this was a no-brainer… It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and what I love about Bristol is that it encourages you to make these crazy ideas a reality. We ran a competition for anyone to apply for a place in the basket and we were amazed at how many responses we got.”
The event arrived earlier than expected. Hospitality in the portscheduled for August 3 at Lloyds Amphitheatre in the heart of Bristol. Anaïs features on the bill, which is headlined by drum & bass superstars Andy C and Netsky.
