From the stage to the welder, Kevin Parker, the architect of Tame Impala's lush soundscapes, has launched a company to produce electronic music instruments.
Fans who visited the band's Instagram account last week saw the addition of a new username for Telepathic Instruments, which is described on its own page as “an electronic instrument company founded by Tame Impala and friends.” A website was also created for the company, but it is quite cryptic.
The same goes for Telepathic social media. At the time of writing, the brand's Instagram page consists of two posts: one containing an image of its logo along with audio of a distorted, bitcrushed synth patch and another silent one with a pixelated image of someone It looks like Parker. The latter comes with a text that says: “What is brother trying to tell us…?”

Talking with History of the synthesizer Last year, Parker talked about his favorite synthesizers, like the vintage Sequential Circuits Pro One, as well as his early inspirations in audio technology.
“A little Casio keyboard that I basically inherited,” he said. “My dad had this little Casio, which I've had forever. I mean, technically it's a synthesizer, but it wasn't like 'a synth.' Once I started playing Pro One, I became obsessed. The first things I wrote ended up being songs. LonelinessThat album, my second album, was basically the sound of me discovering synthesizers. I didn't go crazy, but all synthesizers define the sound of the song they're in.”
While details are unclear at this time, fans can sign up to receive updates on Telepathic Instruments through the company's website. website. When you enter an email address, a message appears that says, “We'll be in touch soon. You'll know when you hear it.”
