The surprises just kept on coming Taylor SwiftEras tour show in Australia on Friday (February 23). During the pop star's first night at Sydney's Accor Stadium, she revealed yet another version of her upcoming album Department of Tormented Poets titled “The Albatross” — complete with a limited bonus track of the same name — before it was released Sabrina Carpenter to help sing a mashup of “White Horse” and “Coney Island.”
Swift kicked off her regularly scheduled surprise song segment by playing one 1989 fan favorite “How You Get the Girl” on acoustic guitar. Then, taking a seat at her piano, she surprised the crowd by revealing details about 'The Albatross', debuting its special edition on the big screens behind her.
“I'm really, really proud of this record,” she said as fans roared with excitement. “It's good to have options — everyone likes options. I wanted to show you something if you'll turn your attention to the main screen.''
Shortly after, the “Anti-Hero” singer shared the new cover art — the back of which reads, “Am I allowed to cry?” — on Instagram. The 'Albatross' edition marks his third release Tormented Poets Swift has announced so far, following the initial layout of “The Manuscript” album that she revealed at the 2024 Grammys as well as “The Bolter” package, which the musician revealed during her show at Eras in Melbourne on the 16 February.
All three versions of it Tormented Poets are available for pre-order and will arrive on April 19th.
Soon after, Swift welcomed Carpenter to the stage. The “Feather” musician has served as an opener for the “Karma” artist on the Latin American, Asian and Australian legs of the Eras tour. However, she was unable to perform her setlist on Thursday due to rain delays.
“She heroically sacrificed her show, which I think is a crime against Sydney,” Swift said before Carpenter joined her on the piano bench.
The pair then jammed into a Swift mashup Forever deep cut 'Coney Island' and her Fearless The single “White Horse,” which the 14-time Grammy winner explained was a favorite of Carpenter's.
