Taylor Swift is no longer letting unfounded pregnancy rumors make Lady Gaga feel bad. Shortly after the latest pop star shut down speculation about her body by using a song from the first Department of Tormented Poetsthe “Anti-Hero” singer rushed to defend her peer from the “invasive and irresponsible” gossip.
“We can all agree that it's invasive and irresponsible to comment on a woman's body,” Swift commented Wednesday (June 5) on Gaga's TikTok video from the day before. “Gaga owes no one an explanation, not even any woman.”
In the video, the Haus Labs founder showed off her makeup and wrote: “Not pregnant – just crying at the gym,” referencing Swift's Billboard Hot 100 hit “Down Bad.” The post appears to have come in response to pregnancy rumors that surfaced earlier this week, thanks to fans who believed they saw evidence of a baby bump in photos of Gaga attending her sister's wedding.
Swift has also been the subject of online pregnancy rumors in recent weeks, as her overzealous fans analyzed her form for bump marks in photos from her European Eras tour shows. The 14-time Grammy winner previously opened up about how such speculation has negatively affected her body image and mental health in the 2020 Netflix documentary Miss America.
In fact, Gaga commented on a clip of Swift talking about her eating disorder in the film after it resurfaced online last year. “Everything you said is really brave 🖤 wow,” the “Rain on Me” artist wrote at the time.
