Taylor Swift will be the musician to beat at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards as she has secured the highest number of nominations.
The 34-year-old chart-topping star – who is in the midst of her extensive Eras World Tour – has secured 10 nominations including artist of the year, song of the year, best collaboration, and best pop.
Her other nominations for her music videos include best cinematography, best editing, best visual effects, best art direction – and also best director as she helmed the video for her single Fortnight herself.
Post Malone, who features on the Fortnight single also secured a high number of nominations – landing nine including best collaboration.
Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem and Ariana Grande all secured six nominations each, while SZA and Megan Thee Stallion both secured five nominations.
Taylor’s fans are hoping the star will use the awards show to finally reveal the release date of her Reputation (Taylor’s Version) album which has been teased since August last year.
The Look What You Made Me Do singer will be free to attend the event in September as she will be on a two-month break from her current tour at that time.
She took to the stage in 2022 to announce the release of her album Midnights, prompting hopes she will announce her re-release album at the glitzy event this year.
The 2024 MTV VMAs will take place at the UBS Arena in New York on Tuesday 10 September.
