By Taylor Swift Department of Tormented Poets marks a seventh consecutive and overall week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated June 15), as the set gained 148,000 equivalent US album units in the week ending June 6 (down 16%), according to Luminate.
Poets is the first album to spend its first seven weeks at No. 1 since Morgan Wallen One thing at a time led for the first 12 weeks a year ago (March 18-June 3, 2023 dated chart). Among Swift's collection of 14 No.1s, Poets overcomes Folklore for the most weeks at No. 1 since its debut, as well Folklore it spent the first six weeks at the top of the chart (before falling to No. 5 in the seventh frame).
From Swift's No. 1 on the Billboard 200, Poets matches Red for the fourth most weeks at the top. It is in front of them 1989 and Fearless (each with 11) and Folklore (eight).
Meanwhile, Swift adds her 76th career week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, extending her record among solo artists. (Elvis Presley has the second most among soloists, with 67.) The total includes her 14 leaders. (He's tied with Jay-Z for most No. 1s among solo artists.)
Also in the top 10 of the new Billboard 200, ATEEZ achieves their fifth consecutive, and overall, top 10 chart effort as Golden Hour: Part 1 bows at No.2, while Shaboozey drops his first charting album as his new release Where I've been is not where I'm going soars to No. 5.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the US based on multimetric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units include album sales, track album equivalents (TEA) and streaming album equivalents (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale or 10 individual tracks sold from an album or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 official paid/subscription audio and video streams generated from songs from an album. Of Department of Tormented Poetsof the 148,000 equivalent album units earned, SEA units consist of 120,000 (down 10% — it's No. 1 on top streaming albums; SEA units equal 157.26 million official deluxe on-demand streams), 270 songs by deluxe edition, 370 songs down 35%) and TEA units consist of 1,000 (down 22%).
ATEEZ achieve their fifth consecutive, and overall, top 10 album on the Billboard 200 as Golden Hour: Part 1 debuts at No. 2 with 131,000 equivalent album units (the biggest week of 2024 for any K-pop album). Of that amount, album sales make up 127,000 (the highest-selling week of the year for a K-pop album, it's also the highest-selling album of the week, it's No. 1 on top album sales), SEA units consist of 4,000 (corresponding to 6.15 million official on-demand streams of the set's six songs), and TEA units are a negligible amount. The album's first week sales were supported by its availability on 31 CD variants, all featuring branded paper goods and other collectibles.
By Billie Eilish Hit with hard and soft slips 2-3 with 117,000 equivalent album units earned (down 19%). With the top three acts on the Billboard 200 each surpassing 100,000 units earned for the week, it's the second week in a row that the top three have cleared at least 100,000. The last time this happened was in the lists dated October 28 and November 4, 2023.
Morgan Wallen's top chart One thing at a time is a no-changer at No. 4 on the new Billboard 200 with 71,000 equivalent album units gained (down 3%).
Shaboozey's third album, Where I've been is not where I'm going, debuts at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, marking the artist's first chart entry. The set was introduced by the smash single “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which reached No. 3 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on Hot Country Songs. The album earned 50,000 equivalent album units in its first week, and of that amount, SEA units comprise 39,000 (equivalent to 52.66 million official on-demand streams of the set's 12 songs, based largely on “A Bar Song”), album sales total 8,000 (it was only available for purchase as a standard digital download album) and TEA units consist of 3,000.
Wallen's former leader Dangerous: The Double album is a no-changer at No. 6 on the new Billboard 200 with 43,000 equivalent album units gained (down 4%), by Noah Kahan Stick Season steps 9-7 (42,000, up 5%), Future and Metro Boomin chart topper We Don't Trust You slides 7-8 (40,000, down 6%), by Gunna One from Wun falls 8-9 (nearly 40,000, down 6%) and Zach Bryan's former No. 1 namesake is stagnant at No. 10 (36,000, down 3%).
