Despite furious fan speculation that Taylor Swift would soon announce a release date for Reputation (Taylor's Version) – the second in the latest re-recording of her Taylor's Version album series – the three-time Grammy album of the Year winner still surprised the world . again.
At Sunday night's (February 4) Grammy Awards at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Swift won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal album and took the stage to accept the award.
“This is my 13th Grammy — which is my lucky number, I don't know if I've ever told you,” Swift joked (every card-carrying Swiftie knows this by heart). “I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way. I know that the way the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans. So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I've been keeping from you for the past two years, which is that my brand new album will be released on April 19th called Department of Tormented Poets. I'll go ahead and post the cover right backstage. Thank you I love you.”
Soon after, Swift followed through on her promise and shared the cover for Department of Tormented Poets, which is a black and white photo of Swift lying on a bed. “All's fair in love and poetry,” reads the caption. The pre-order is already up live on her website.
