About two fortnights after it first dropped, Taylor Swift‘s The Tortured Poets Department lead single is getting a makeover.
The 34-year-old pop star teamed up with Canadian DJ BLOND:ISH to release a club-ready remix of “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone Wednesday (May 22). The revamped version speeds up Swift’s moody original, adding a dance-inducing beat and electronic flourishes.
“Blondie just dropped the #FortnightBLONDISHRemix and it’s sooo ‘now you’re in the club’ coded,” tweeted Taylor Nation following the remix’s release.
The reimagined track comes almost a month after “Fortnight” — which was originally mixed by Jack Antonoff — dropped alongside the rest of Tortured Poets‘ 31 songs, after which the Posty-assisted single spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The full album recently logged its fourth week atop the Billboard 200.
Swift is currently in the middle of the European leg of her global Eras Tour, on which she recently premiered the brand-new Tortured Poets miniset at her Paris shows. In addition to “Fortnight,” the updated setlist features “Down Bad,” “So High School,” “But Daddy I Love Him,” “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?”
After wrapping up three concerts in Stockholm over the weekend, the 14-time Grammy winner will next take her trek to Lisbon Friday (May 24) and Saturday (May 25). She’ll spend the rest of the summer traveling through Europe before returning to the U.S. and Canada for a second North American leg this fall.
