Ted Star Max Burkholder might have been born in the '90s, but the 1980 cult classic Plane! it still resonated with him like few other comedies. In this episode of The Spark ParadeBurkholder gushes about the foolish world of Plane!, a style of comedy that grabbed him and never let go.
Although he is now a big fan, Burkolder's relationship with Plane! It has transformed and grown over the years. The actor admits that upon first seeing him, the film's acting was so subtle that he didn't realize it was a comedy. Since then, he has come to love its mix of deadpan humor, slapstick and surrealism, and it has proven to be a major influence on his work in Teda show by another of his creative heroes, Seth MacFarlane.
“The biggest comedic influence for me, in terms of my sense of humor, is Family man [and] Seth MacFarlane,” he explains. “It would be difficult not to see Plane!His influence on her sense of humor.”
