Tee Grizzley, Future Drop Ferocious New Single “Swear To God”

Grizzly and Future teamed up to release new track “Swear To God” on Friday.

The hard-hitting single opens with the lyrics: “Fuck your album, shit don't slap like my mixtape.” When the rapper released a coded announcement of the track on Thursday, he did so by tweeting the vicious opening line to Xwhich many speculate as a hidden shot in Gunna, whose album One from Wun it was already announced that it will be released today as well. Two from Gunna subsequent posts they were supposed to be answers.

Elsewhere on the track, Tee Grizzley declares, “We move like the mob (We in it), that the pressure is on (Always)/Nigga playin', diein' (What else), I swear to God (To me).” The accompanying video sees the couple banging behind a jewelry counter, rolling around in a Maybach and other luxurious shots.

On Thursday, Future teased on X/Twitter that “Mixtape Pluto” would be returning to “May tenth [nose-blowing emoji]. The upcoming mixtape will be his first since World on Drugs with Juice Wrld in 2018 and his first solo tape since 2016 Purple Reign.

The past few months have been historic for the rap genre. Future kicked off the tumultuous rap beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake with the single “Like That,” in which Lamar takes aim at Drake and his “First Person Shooter” collaborator J. Cole. Future (nicknamed Pluto) is considered one of the artists – including Rick Ross and the Weekend – who used his last two albums to air his grievances specifically with Drake. Drake seemed particularly upset with Future's role in the melee: “Pluto makes me sick to my stomach, we've never really been through it,” he rapped on one of his diss tracks, “Family Matters.”

Fans have suspected that the rap wars will continue with Future's upcoming mixtape. The rapper's last solo album was in 2022 I never liked youwith the Grammy-winning hit “Wait For U” featuring Tems and Drake.
