In the first trailer for Netflix's new anime series Terminator zeroIn the film, a resistance fighter named Eiko (Sonoya Mizuno) is sent back to 1997 to stop Skynet from becoming self-aware and waging war against humanity. Watch the trailer below.
Spanning eight episodes, Terminator zero The story centers on Eiko, who travels back in time to the year 2022 after Judgment Day to stop a programmer named Malcolm Lee (André Holland) from launching Japan’s answer to Skynet: an advanced AI called Kokoro (Rosario Dawson). Standing in Eiko’s way is Timothy Olyphant as the Terminator himself.
“This isn’t what you think,” Eiko says in the trailer, presumably warning Lee about the Terminator. “You can’t see it yet. But you’ve been on a collision course your entire life. It will never, ever stop. There’s only one thing standing between you and it. Me.”

Terminator zero begins airing on August 29, coinciding with the anniversary of Judgement Day.
