Nicholas Craven is back once again with Tha God Fahim for his 47th EP. Starting off as a subsidiary of Griselda Records, as well as being 1/3 of Dump Gawds alongside Mach-Hommy & Your Old Droog, we also can't ignore the massive discography he's managed to build for himself, some of which they stand out Breaking Through Th Van Allen Belts & Dump Assassins. But dude was on a CRAZY ass EP run in 2023, with the standout being Camoflauge Monk production Dark Shogun Assassinpowered by Nature Sounds Iron Bull & the Nicholas Craven-prod Dump Gawd: Shot Clock King series, the Oh No-production Berserker, Dump Gawd: Rhyme Pays Produced by Mike Shabb The Supreme Treasurer of All Virgin Wealth, Supreme Dump Legend: Soul Cook Saga Produced by Cookin' Soul & & more recently Machine gun vocabulary Produced by Cartune Beatz. 5 years since then This myth that never gives upwe got a 2nd AND a 3rd dose last month and they keep dumping me Dump Gawd: Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap.
“Saiyan Pride” is that soulful boom bap intro that reminds us his catalog is extensive on top of the mystical energy he always brings, while “A Nightmare You Can't Come Back From” works on a chip punk soul instrumental that asks who is as dope as him lyrically. “Dump Dynasty” laces a guitar sample with more kicks and snares that make the switch by going down in flames before “10x Gravity” soulfully speaks to its level of power that can't be mapped or calculated.
As for “Tha Riddle of Steel,” we have Fahim over a flute warning what will happen if you fuck with the known unknown just before “LSSJ” completely strips down the drums talking about MCs trying to ride out the storm. “Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap 2” is a raw sequel to a A myth that never gives up 3 standout “Tha Supreme Kai of Bean Pies” has the MCs meeting the soul of death sampling once again, but after “Repetition” the EP ends like a storm.
Giving a few weeks for both The myth that never gives up 2 & The myth that never gives up 3 to breathe, Breadrick Douglas and Montreal's biggest hip-hop producer recapture the same energy of the original track “Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap” on the latest EP and take it to a 20-minute EP of its own. Nicholas Craven's chipmunk soul-heavy boom bap and drumless sound always brought out the best in Dump Gawd, except I like this better than The myth that never gives up 3 & almost as much The myth that never gives up 2.
