It looks like 2025 will be the year of the OG “Bred” Jordans as it is reported that the coveted and sought after Air Jordan 1 “Bred” will return in all its 1985 glory.
According GQ, the sneaker that many consider the pinnacle of the Jordan 1 series will be making its comeback sometime next year. And not only will it sport the classic black and red colorway that made it an instant classic, but it'll feature the '85 high cut that Jordan Brand has retro-directed for past Jordan 1 silhouettes. Although Jordan 1 silhouettes have exploded as of late (sneakerheads have really lost interest in the sneaker due to the over saturation and color ways), you better believe these are going to be super tough cops even if the stock is in the millions.
Per GQ:
While the “Bred” (or “Banned”) has been re-released a few times over the last four decades, this upcoming pair will be a remake of the OG from '85. It comes in an all-leather construction designed to look and feel as premium as the Air Jordans of old. A Swoosh, as always, is planted on the lateral and medial sidewalls, and the legendary winged basketball emblem is stamped on the collar.
South, the midsole is dipped in white and is infused with Nike's critically acclaimed Air technology for added comfort and flexibility. Rumor has it that it will also be released in a period-accurate shoebox, just like 2022's 'Lost & Found'.
The Air Jordan 1 High '85 'Bred' will return sometime in the spring of 2025, just in time to celebrate Jordan Brand's 40th anniversary. Set drop to Win, the SNKRS app and select retailers worldwide, will retail for around $200 a drink. However, resale prices are expected to triple.
The news comes after it was revealed that Nike plans to re-release the classic Air Jordan 5 “Metallic” and Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” in 2025.
Nike is coming for all the money this year.
