ConsequenceBass Week couldn't have come to fruition without the help of some of our favorite bassists. After the poll, read picks for 10 albums with great bass from Mr. Bungle's Trevor Dunn, Death Cab for Cutie's Nick Harmer, and Blu DeTiger, and dDon't forget to check out our list of the 100 Greatest Bassists of All Time.
As we are here in Consequence Turning down our subwoofers and closing out Bass Week, we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who made it possible: the real damn bassists. We couldn't have organized a celebration like this without the input of some of our favorite players, so it's time to let them speak for themselves.
Below are the full survey responses we received when we turned to the experts and asked them: “Who are the five people you consider to be the greatest bassists of all time and why?” Not all of the players mentioned made the final list, but without a doubt each and every one of them deserves their flowers.
So join this circle of low-level love and read who people like Sum 41's Cone McCaslin, PUP's Nestor Chumak, Girasol Bean's Julia Cumming, Papa Roach's Tobin Esperance and many more think are some of the best ever the times. Take a four-string one.
