The Cure have announced an eco-friendly 12-inch vinyl single, November – Live in France 2022which includes two live recordings of new songs called “And Nothing Is Forever” and “I Can Never Say Goodbye.” The double A-side single will be released on October 1.
While these two songs have been staples on The Cure's setlists over the years, they were never officially released until now and technically mark the band's first new musical offering since 2008. 4:13 DreamA limited run of 5,000 individually numbered copies will be printed, with the first 100 copies signed by Robert Smith himself.
The album will be released through the sustainability-focused platform. Naked Disco Clubwhich employs a special injection molding machine that consumes approximately 80-90% less electricity than traditional vinyl pressing machines. They also use highly recyclable plastics to create the packaging and the record itself. According to a study statement On the band's website, the Naked Record Club and its sustainable vinyl production were “brought to the attention of Robert Smith via members of The Cure's fan base.”
The vinyl will be released as a special charity single, with 100% of the proceeds going to Brian Eno's climate charity. The live recordings of “And Nothing Is Forever” and “I Can Never Say Goodbye” were captured at two shows in France in November 2022: “And Nothing Is Forever” was recorded at the Sud de France Arena in Montpellier on November 8, 2022, and “I Can Never Say Goodbye” was recorded on November 13 at their show in Toulouse.
