Legendary electronic music band The Disco Biscuits recently released their ninth studio album, a space saga titled “Revolution in Motion,” just in time for their upcoming performance at Texas Eclipse. Produced by Derek VanScoten, also known as Cloudchord, the album consists of 14 tracks and has been presented in four parts, each accompanied by comic-book-style 3D animated films created by Blunt Action and posted on the band's YouTube page. band.
The album tells a fascinating story of extraterrestrial beings who descend on New York City to freeze and kidnap humans for study, only to encounter unexpected resistance from none other than The Disco Biscuits. As the story unfolds, the band accompanies the misfit aliens back to their home planet, showing the transformative power of music to their Queen in hopes of quelling unrest among their people. The album's 14 tracks have been performed live and refined over the past two years, with many of them becoming staples of the band's performances and serving as platforms for the exploration of improvisation. The space opera concept was conceived by Jon Barber and his collaborator Joey Friedman in August 2021, and composition began in early 2022 with Aron Magner.
All in all, 'Revolution In Motion' lives up to the hype and is another impressive release from such a legendary force in the electronic music scene.
