Rocky and Ross Lynch of The Driver Era come to talk to Kyle Meredith about their new singles, including the just-released “Get Off My Phone.” Listen to the new episode above, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Ross – known for Austin and Ally, teen beachand Chilling Adventures of Sabrina — discusses how “Get Off My Phone” puts a contemporary spin on the classic breakup song: “It's about the modern dilemma that people experience,” he explains. “When someone is no longer in your life, a lot of people are tempted to go and see what someone is doing on social media.”
The couple reflects on how their upbringing in show business has influenced the sound of the new song, which arrives with a marked pop-punk and pop-rock approach: a natural evolution. They also rule out that they could release up to three albums this year. “The material is really there… It's possible,” Ross says. “Rocky said [three albums] “However, if it doesn't come to fruition, blame Rocky.”
Elsewhere, the Lynches take a peek behind the curtain and tease upcoming projects, divulging their pre-show playlist cuts and detailing a possible documentary.
