THE FARM has released Let the music (take control)the band's second single from a series of new releases, following the success of Feel The Love, which was added to the BBC Radio 2 playlist.
“Let The Music (Take Control)” is a vibrant mix of Kraftwerk-inspired electronic sounds brought to life by dynamic guitar riffs. A live performance and chance meeting with legendary guitarist, songwriter and producer Nile Rodgers influenced the song.
The band's lead guitarist Keith Mullin and singer-lyricist Peter Hooton had gone to see Rodgers in Liverpool a few years ago. During the concert, Peter imagined Rodgers as a prophet, standing on a podium leading a mass movement of people with the slogan “Let the music – take control”, and the masses were captivated, not by any political slogan but by the music, the rhythm. and melody.
“The idea came from politicians using meaningless phrases like 'take back control,'” remember Peter, “But I thought it should be 'let the music take control' because music is universal and can inspire, unite and change attitudes much more than politicians can.”
Coincidentally, before the concert, Keith had bumped into Rodgers and the two had talked about their mutual love of the Fender Stratocaster. Affectionately known as Rodgers' 'hit maker', Keith wrote the riffs for The Farm's hits “Groovy Train” and “All Together” Now on a Strat, as he did for new single “Let The Music (Take Control)”.
