It's been a few years since its fourth season Stranger Things left us wondering how the series would end. While we still have no idea how the kids in Hawkins, Indiana are going to stop the Upside Down from running rampant in our reality, Netflix has released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming final season of the popular show.
No actual scenes from the show's upcoming fifth season were shown, but the teaser trailer reveals the upcoming titles of each episode. Judging from that alone, we're in for quite a ride. Eight episodes strong and titles include: 'The Crawl', 'The Vanishing of…', 'The Turnbow Trap', 'Sorcerer', 'Shock Jock', 'Escape From Camazotz', 'The Bridge' and 'The Rightside Up'.
While these titles don't give much away, we can at least look forward to plenty of heart-pounding scenarios in which our young heroes will find themselves in life-and-death situations. According to Varietysome titles may suggest familiar scenarios.
Per Variety:
Some of these titles refer to previous episodes: “The Vanishing of…” – revealed with the name fully disguised – references the series premiere “The Vanishing of Will Byers”. Fans online have already speculated that the new abductee could be Holly Wheeler, the younger sister of Mike (Finn Wolfhard), who has reportedly gotten back together with “Evil Dead Rise” actress Nell Fisher, but Netflix has not officially confirmed.
The Season 1 finale was titled “The Upside Down,” the name of the ghostly alternate dimension associated with Hawkins, so it's only fitting that the series finale, “The Rightside Up,” is titled the other way around. And the penultimate episode title, “The Bridge,” evokes odd titles like Season 4's “The Piggyback” and Season 2's “The Gate.”
It would be interesting to see how the series ends after eight years in the making.
His last season Stranger Things will be released on Netflix sometime in 2025. What do you expect to see unfold when all is said and done? Let us know in the comments section below.
