Joaquin Phoenix's iteration of the Joker in Todd Phillips' 2019 film centered on the iconic Batman villain was arguably the best version of the Clown Prince of Crime that moviegoers have seen to date (Heath Ledger is also up there). . Now, we've got a sneak peak of what to expect in the sequel to the cult classic that captivated comic book land just a few years ago.
After months of waiting, Warner Bros. has just released the first trailer for the upcoming JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX, which once again stars Phoenix as the title character and Lady Gaga as the DCEU's new Harley Quinn. Breaking ground as the first live-action comic book musical to be created, the film will pick up where the Joker left off as he was institutionalized in Arkham Asylum where he eventually meets his crazy-feeding counterpart Harley Quinn (Lady Gaga). she does her thing.
While plot details aren't really known, it looks like the movie will be something like that Natural Born Killers relationship as the two finally break out of Arkham Asylum and wreak havoc on the streets of Gotham City while singing tunes and dancing away from the pain of their past as they evade the law.
Sounds like a success to us.
