Waking up on a Friday morning and realizing The Lox have played a gig at the Tiny Desk hits harder than a strong cup of coffee.
Since destroying Dipset in Verzuz's most memorable battle, the trio from Yonkers has reached a new level of popularity. Fans new and old appreciate Styles, Jadakiss and Sheek for their loyalty and togetherness, being one of the only groups in music history to never break up, going 30 years strong. Their cohesion and professionalism was on display again during the NPR Tiny Desk set on Friday (August 2).
The band ran through classics like Styles P's “Good Times” from his debut solo album A gangster and a gentleman and “Money, Power, & Respect” from their self-titled debut album. They even made sure to do something for the ladies with Sheek performing his song “Good Love” from his third album, Silverback Gorilla. While they opened the set with the instrumental to Jada's street classic 'All for the Love', they closed it with his and Styles' absolute party 'We Gonna Make It' from Jada's debut album. Kiss tha Game Goodbye.
