The 2024 edition of Nocturnal Wonderland, an electronic dance music festival taking place in San Bernardino, has been cancelled due to the impact of the devastating Line Fire in California, according to event organizers.
Insomniac Events released a statement today announcing that they have cancelled the festival, their longest-running event, after holding talks with local authorities.
“While Nocturnal Wonderland had already been cleared to move forward at the time of our last update, we are saddened to report that new fires have ignited in the San Bernardino area over the past 36 hours and are now approaching the Glen Helen Amphitheater,” the company said. “The health and safety of festival attendees and staff is our top priority.”
The destructive wildfires have burned more than 26,000 acres in San Bernardino County and were 5% contained as of Tuesday morning, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire ProtectionCalifornia Gov. Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency in the county and has secured federal assistance to support the department's response. An estimated 36,000 structures are at risk.
The fire, which started Thursday night, is expected to grow significantly this week and evacuation warnings have been sent to adjacent communities, officials said.
“Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the fires in San Bernardino and Southern California,” Insomniac's statement added. “We understand the importance of ensuring local resources are fully dedicated to controlling the fires and protecting the surrounding communities.”
The Nocturnal Wonderland festival was scheduled to take place September 14-15 at San Bernardino's Glen Helen Regional Park. Kaskade, RL Grime, San Holo, Jessica Audiffred and many other electronic music stars were scheduled to perform.
Ticket holders will soon receive an email with details about refunds, Insomniac said. Read the company's full statement below.
