Pharrell unveiled his latest Spring/Summer 2025 menswear collection for Louis Vuitton earlier on Tuesday (June 18) during Paris Fashion Week, and for the second year in a row, a new Clipse song debuted.
Around the 40 minute mark, the haunted piano keys start playing for about two minutes before you hear John Legend's voice as he sings, “The birds don't sing.”
Then you hear Pusha T rap about his mother Mildred Thornton who passed away in November 2021 and the bars are heartbreaking. “Lost in emotion, mama's youngest/ Tryna navigate life without my compass/ Some experience death and feel numb/ But not me, I felt it all and couldn't function.”
The No Malice brother handles the second verse and focuses on their father, Elliott Thornton Sr., who passed away in March 2022. “Your car was in the driveway, I knew you were home/ On the third beat, a shiver went through my bones/ The way you miss mama, I guess I should have known/ Chivalry ain't dead, you ain't let her go alone,” he raps as he paints the picture of finding his father's body.
Last year, the duo premiered a new song as well, and it sent the rap community into a frenzy over subliminal bars aimed at Jim Jones. which he boldly advocated that Push is not a top 50 rapper of all time.
Advertising sign reached out to Pusha's reps for more information, and while they weren't willing to share anything yet, they did confirm that what we heard was a new Clipse record. “There are no details to share at this time, other than it is indeed the new Clipse that played during the show,” they told us in a statement.
Keep it locked here as more information comes out about this rumored project they're supposedly cooking up.
