The Slow Readers Club consists of Aaron Starkie (vocals), Kurtis Starkie (guitar), James Ryan (bass) and David Whitworth (drums). They write anthemic and uplifting post-punk alternative rock songs with addictive melodies, choruses and heartfelt lyrics.
The band have built a loyal following across the UK and Europe, having risen from small venues to sell-out shows and main stage festival slots.
They have grown largely through word of mouth from fans, grassroots music blogs and radio champions including Christine Hawkins, Steve Lamacq and John Kennedy.
Their fan base continues to grow daily, which is a testament to the quality of their songs and the intense live shows that The Slow Readers Club puts on.
The band has one top ten album, 'The Joy Of The Return', and three other top 40 albums. They have honed their craft through several headlining tours and have supported artists such as James, Pixies, Morrissey, The Charlatans, Shed 7, Catfish and The Bottlemen and the Jesus and Mary Chain.
