The Winter Music Conference will return to Miami in 2025, its organizers announced this week.
The event, one of the country's largest electronic music summits, was founded in 1985 and is estimated to attract around 100,000 people. To commemorate the brand's 35th anniversary, next year's Winter Music Conference will be the first since 2019.
The summit was scheduled for the following year, but the impact of the pandemic stifled its plans. Influential speakers scheduled to appear in 2020 include Patrick Moxey, founder of Ultra Records; Lyor Cohen, global head of music at YouTube; and superstar dance music duo SOFI TUKKER, among many others.
Finally, organizers launched the first-ever virtual Winter Music Conference, developing a series of virtual reality-based music programming in collaboration with VRJAM. More than 50 artists performed virtual DJ sets at the time, including pioneering Chicago house music legend Marshall Jefferson.
