Bunnie XO may have gotten her husband Jelly Roll in a bit of trouble after an appearance during the “Son of a Sinner's” performance during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on Wednesday (March 6).
“Girl you messed up,” Bunnie XO said in a TikTok video on Thursday (March 7), detailing what happened. “Obviously, at the Houston Rodeo, you're not supposed to fool around. You mustn't say a bad word on stage, and if you do, the lights will go out, you'll be kicked out, and you'll never be allowed to come back. Nobody told me that.”
She went on to detail what happened when Jelly Roll called her on stage in front of 75,000 people at NRG Stadium. “The husband and I had a conversation: 'Baby, are you coming on stage tonight?' I said no. I'm already weird and awkward as it is… I don't do well on the mic or with crowds and stick to a script we've been doing for the last decade. Unbeknownst to me, my husband walks in the middle of one of the songs and pulls me up on stage. And what do I do when he hands me the microphone? I hope you enjoy this little gaffe here.”
The video then cuts to the moment footage as Jelly Roll brings Bunnie XO on stage and the crowd starts cheering when they catch her. The country star hands her the microphone and asks her to greet the crowd. He then proceeds to shout into the microphone, “Houston, what the fk?” prompting further cheers from the audience. The video then zooms in on Jelly Roll's face as he appears to move away from the camera slightly. “The look of despair,” she captioned the moment.
But the Silly blonde The podcast host is nothing to worry about. Says a spokesperson for the Houston Rodeo Advertising sign, “I can say that they have NOT been banned and we would love to have them both back. We're a family show, but there's no rule against swearing.”
Jelly Roll is far from the first country artist to hear his words during their set. A few days before, HARDY led the Rodeo Houston crowd throughout chanting “FK!” together during his own performance. He referred to the supposed “no profanity” guideline by telling the crowd: “I thought if we just do a countdown and we all say it at the same time, maybe we'll all be in trouble together.”
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo runs through Sunday, March 17, with Eric Church closing the event. Upcoming performers include Major Lazer, Lainey Wilson, Zac Brown Band and more.
