Three people and several others were injured at an event celebrating the western German city of Solingen's 650 years of diversity, local news reported Friday.

No arrests were made, the agency said, and witnesses said the suspect fled.

According to the Solinger Tageblatt, the festival has been closed and authorities are asking Solingen residents to leave the city center.
